A late second-half goal gave Lehigh the lead as they defeated Army 2-1 Saturday night at the Ulrich Sports Complex.

The team leader in points, junior forward/midfielder Jamie Luchini, had the game-winning goal in the 81st minute to seal the victory.

Luchini added an assist on Lehigh’s other goal, which was scored by senior forward Brian Suchoski in the 16th minute. It was Suchoski’s first goal of the season.

In addition to Luchini’s assist on Suchoski’s goal, junior midfielder Ryan Bertrando and freshman forward Doyle Tuvesson each picked up an assist on the night.

Lehigh’s goalie, senior Ciaran Nugent, had an easy night after facing only two shots on goal, making one save in the process. Lehigh led 6-2 in shots on goal by the end of the game, three of which came from Tuvesson. The Mountain Hawks also led in total shots 15-7.

After four straight losses earlier in October, this was the Hawks’ second win in a row. They move to 8-7 overall with a 3-3 record in the Patriot League as Army fell to 5-6-4 overall with a 2-3-1 record in the Patriot League.

Lehigh will look to continue its winning streak in its final home game of the season when they face Navy on Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.
