The Lehigh women’s volleyball team won its eighth game in a row Saturday by routing Bucknell University in straight sets, 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-13).

The team improved its record to 20-9 overall and 13-2 in the Patriot League with one game remaining in the regular season.

Junior right side hitter Stephanie Slater and senior outside hitter Jade Van Streepen dominated the match, recording 13 and 12 kills respectively. Slater led the team with an outstanding .500 hitting percentage. Sophomore libero Mariah Brantley bolstered Lehigh’s defense with 17 digs.

The Bucknell team was held to a .140 hitting percentage while Lehigh put up an impressive .308.

The team won handily, never trailing in any set until the beginning of the third when the team was down 2-0. The Hawks quickly turned the score around, going on a 9-2 run to take the lead. They never looked back as they almost doubled Bucknell’s point total in the third set.

The team has not dropped a single set in the past two games. The Hawks are hoping that this momentum will follow them when they compete in the Patriot League tournament as a No. 2 seed.

Before that, they will match up against No. 1 seed, American University, on Nov. 15 at Grace Hall.
