A Tennessee man has been identified as one of the suspects in the Aug. 28 assault of three Lehigh students after an investigation by the Bethlehem and Lehigh University police departments, according to a press release from the BPD.
The press release identified one of the suspects as 30-year-old Christopher Navarrette of Cleveland, Tennessee. The other suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
Police used surveillance video from city cameras, Lehigh cameras and cameras at the Sands Casino to identify Navarrette as one of the perpetrators. The investigation determined that two white males exited a white Ford Focus and assaulted the victims.
Navarrette was found in the evening of Aug. 30 at the Extended Stay America Hotel, when a vehicle matching one described from the assault was seen in the parking lot.
Navarrette has been apprehended and incarcerated in Northampton County prison under $100,000 bail. He is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault and two counts of harassment.
All three victims of the assault were Lehigh students and were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for their injuries to be treated. The first victim was unconscious and was later determined to have a broken nose, skull fracture and a cut to his face. The second victim was bleeding from his face and was later determined to have a skull fracture, left ear damage and a concussion. The third victim had cuts on his face.

I HAVE PLENTY TO SAY ABOUT THE TWO MEN -THAT R BEEN BASHED FOR THE ASSAULT OF THE LEHIGH UNIVERSITY-NO BODY TOLD THAT THE LEHIGH UNIVERSITY STUDENTS WAS DRUNKING & STANDING IN THE ROAD NOT LETTING PEOPLE THROW-WHEN THE WHITE CAR CAME THROW THEY DID ASK THE LEHIGH UNIVERSITY STUDENTS TO MOVE & THAT’S WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED THE STUDENTS STARTED MOUTHING OFF & WOULD NOT MOVE THE TN. MEN ASK COUPLE OF TIMES…AND WE ALL KNOW WHEN DRINKING IS INVOLVED ATTITUDES CHANGE…YES THE PASSENGER GOT OUT OF THE CAR & YES TWO OF THE STUDENTS GOT IN A FIGHT WITH THE TN. This statement is a straight lie, for starters whoever made this comment and I’m pretty sure I know who it is wasn’t there. Second I was the passenger of the vehicle and I didn’t get out until chris stopped the car for absolutely no reason after the guys let us through. Last but not least YOU as well as everyone else in Cleveland,TN knows that Chris has a very long history of violence and starting fights. So before you go bashing the “Passenger” of the vehicle make sure you tell the story 100 percent accurately and stop making your son sound like a Saint. Especially when I had been up there for a couple months already working with zero problems. Then within the first week of chris there this crap happened. Nothing worse than a bunch of liars and ppl speaking on stuff when they don’t know what happened.
