Letter to the editor: The home we must protect

0

In response to the article about divestment: I want my children to marvel at a coral reef. I want them to stand in awe on top of a large ice sheet in the Arctic. I want them to explore small Pacific island nations. I want them to take deep inhalations of clean, carbon-free air.

We are currently killing our planet. Climate change is as real as you and I, despite what many prominent politicians say in order to secure campaign donations and get elected. It is our duty to take care of the planet we call home. As a community, we must urge Lehigh to do everything in its power to protect our Earth. Divest. Consume consciously. Speak up and speak out. We owe it not to ourselves, but to the generations who will inherit the Earth we hand to them.
