A flood warning has been issued until 9 p.m. and a tornado watch until 11 p.m. for many counties in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey — including Lehigh and Northampton counties — according to the National Weather Service.

The watch is in effect for eight counties in New Jersey and four counties in Pennsylvania. Bethlehem is included in the list of cities on tornado watch. The service also issued a hazardous weather outlook and a special weather statement for the area.

“Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway,” the flood advisory reads. “The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Move to higher ground.”

The service’s forecast for the area of Fountain Hill is showers and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds, gusty winds and heavy rain, according to the service.
