The fourth-seeded Lehigh women’s basketball team suffered a season-ending 76-46 loss to top-seed Army West Point in the semifinals of the Patriot League Tournament Friday night.

Army outscored the Mountain Hawks 26-6 in the third quarter to solidify its home victory and knock Lehigh out of the tournament.

The Mountain Hawks struggled shooting from the field, only converting 18-of-45 shots (40 percent), compared to Army’s conversion of 30-of-58 (51.7 percent) shots. Lehigh only hit three of an attempted 15 3-point shots (20 percent), further highlighting the struggle the Mountain Hawks had converting shots throughout the loss.

Sophomore guard Quinci Mann led the Mountain Hawks with 15 points, shooting 5-of-7 from the field and sinking two threes. Mann’s performance was closely followed by Patriot League Scholar Athlete of the Year, junior forward Lexi Martins, who had 13 points, shooting 5-of-11 from the field. Martins also grabbed six rebounds in the loss.

But, Lehigh’s best performers were no match for Army’s Kelsey Minato, who had a dominant performance as she scored 21 points, shooting 8-for-16, including sinking five 3-pointers.

Lehigh ends the season with an overall record 18-13 and a 10-8 record in conference play and will graduate a senior class of four this year.

Army moves on to face Loyola University (Maryland) in the Patriot League Championship on Saturday at 6 p.m.
