Three Lehigh students were assaulted on the 500 block of East Fifth Street and transported to St. Luke’s University Hospital for bruises and lacerations, according to an email from Edward Shupp, the chief of the Lehigh University Police Department.

During the altercation, which was reported around 1:30 a.m., “words were exchanged” between the students and individuals in a passing car. The victims described the perpetrators as “two white males, approximately 30 years of age, driving a white Ford Focus,” Shupp wrote.

The Bethlehem Police Department is investigating the crime with assistance from the LUPD.
