The Lehigh field hockey team’s losing streak continued Saturday when it lost its sixth straight match.

Lehigh fell to rival Lafayette College 5-1 in Easton, concluding the Mountain Hawks’ five-match road trip. Four different Leopards combined for their team’s five goals in the match.

Sophomore forward Gabby Tofig opened the scoring in the match with a quick goal in just the 2nd minute to make it 1-0 Lehigh. Unfortunately for the Mountain Hawks, that would be their only goal of the match and just their fourth goal throughout their six-game losing streak.

Lafayette won in both total shots (18-7) and shots on goal (14-3). In addition to Tofig’s shot, junior midfielder Zoey Pacheco and sophomore forward/midfielder Marissa Glatt each had a shot on goal.

Sophomore goalie Julia Ward recorded nine saves in the match, which was her highest total of the losing streak and the most since saving 11 shots on Sept. 14 against Towson University.

Lehigh will get a short break before coming back home to face its final Patriot League opponent, Bucknell University, on Nov. 1 at 2 p.m.
