University Productions announced hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd will be headlining the university’s annual QUEST concert this spring.

The performance will take place May 6, the last day of classes, at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks from 4-11 p.m., according to University Production’s Facebook page.

Rae Sremmurd is comprised of brothers Khalif “Swae Lee” Brown and Aaquil “Slim Jxmmi” Brown. The two are best known for platinum singles “No Flex Zone” and “No Type.” The duo is college-aged themselves, as Khalif is 20 years old and Aaquil is 22 years old.

Previous QUEST performers include Big Sean in 2015 and Brillz and Flosstradamus in 2014. QUEST 2016 will feature Rae Sremmurd, as well as other special guests who have not been announced yet.

Ross Camiel, music executive for University Productions, said Rae Sremmurd was University Productions’ choice based on several criteria, such as price range and availability. They also look at survey data that indicates what Lehigh students generally like to listen to and look for artists that are trending, he said.

This year’s concert includes a change of venue, as the previous two QUEST concerts were held at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks. Buses will be running throughout the duration of the event, departing from Grace Hill and Pi Beta Phi.

The focus is a festival kind of experience, Camiel said. From about 4 to 8 p.m. there will be performances from local bands, competitions and festival games.

“We’re going to be doing a lot of cool things at the festival,” Camiel said. “It’s not to be missed, that’s going to be an essential part of the day.”

Tickets will go on sale March 22 at 5:30 p.m. for Lehigh students on the second floor of the university center. In-person ticket sales will continue through April 8 on weekdays from 5:30-7 p.m. on the second floor of the university center.

After April 8, ticket sales will take place through an Eventbrite webpage. All ticket sales will end on April 22. In-person sale tickets are $20 for Lehigh students. Up to two guests tickets per students can be purchased for $30.

Tickets will be delivered to campus mailboxes the week before the concert. More ticketing information can be found on the Facebook event for the concert.
