A member of the Lafayette College football team died Thursday after being seriously injured in a car crash on Tuesday.
Brian Keller, 21, crashed into a series of trees after his car left the road and went over the side, according to an article on Lehighvalleylive.com. Keller, a senior tight end on the team, was expected to be a starter in 2015.
The crash occurred in Burlington County, New Jersey, at 6:03 a.m., according to the article.
A GoFundMe page was set up in his honor with a goal of raising $10,000. Since the page was created, it has exceeded that mark and has extended the goal to $15,000.
Since the crash, people have taken to Twitter with the hashtag #PrayersForKeller in his honor. Two former Lehigh football players, who both graduated this past spring, shared their thoughts on Twitter.
#PrayersForKeller RIP, I met Brian when he was on his visit. Was almost a Lehigh man, but ended up at Laf.

I met Brian when he was a recruit my freshman year. Regardless of the Lehigh-Laf rivalry, today's a sad day. Rest easy man #PrayersForKeller
