UPDATE: According to Lehigh’s Library & Technology Services, inbound calling service has been restored.
Lizanne Hurst, manager of telecommunications and network infrastructure, confirmed the fix in an email. LTS determined that the problem was from the side of the service provider, Windstream, and other accounts in the Philadelphia area were also affected.
“Throughout the day Friday, LTS staff attempted various re-routing and forwarding arrangements to attempt to deal with the issue until it was resolved by the carrier, but none were fully successful due to the extent of the problem,” Hurst wrote.

Inbound calling to Lehigh’s campus has been intermittent since the afternoon of Sept. 17.
University Communications notified the Lehigh community in email yesterday that the issue is part of a larger regional outage. The Library and Technology Services department was working with the service provider to resolve the situation.
As of this morning, the LehighU Live app said the university was still experiencing problems receiving incoming calls to campus. LU-Alerts and University Communications notified the community that the issue is “provider-related,” and is impacting other customers in the area. Outbound calling is not affected.
“Off-campus callers with a true emergency should dial 911,” the email says. “For non-emergency
situations, email the LUPD at [email protected]”
The notice said campus will be updated when service has been restored.
