Seven Lehigh football players are scheduled to have a formal arraignment after being charged with felony criminal trespassing in a student off-campus house on Nov. 9, 2015.
According to court records, the arraignment for Michael Gies, ’19, Jacob Scott, ’19, and Mark Walker, ’19, will be at the Northampton County Court House in Easton on March 31 at 1 p.m. All three had preliminary hearings, which were on Jan. 19 in front of Magisterial District Judge Nancy Matos Gonzalez. However, the disposition, or final settlement, was waived for court for all three, advancing them to the next step in the process.
Maxwell Frankel, ’19, Brian Githens, ’16, Noah Robb, ’16, and Dylan Parsons, ’19, have a formal arraignment scheduled for April 14 at 1 p.m. Frankel had his preliminary hearing on Feb. 2 and Githens, Robb and Parsons all had a preliminary hearing on Feb. 9. The disposition was waived for court for all four players, according to court records.
Gies, Scott, Walker, Robb, Parsons and Frankel are all facing charges of felony criminal trespassing. Githens is facing a felony count of burglary, as well as simple assault and criminal mischief.
According to court records, on the night of the break-in, Githens assaulted two Lehigh students, punching holes in the wall, as well as breaking down the door of one of the student’s rooms. Records also say that Parsons urinated in the house’s refrigerator.
The player pages for all seven players have been removed from Lehighsports.com. Despite the arrests, Robb played in Lehigh’s final game of the season against Lafayette College on Nov. 21. However, the other six players did not play in the game.
Githens hadn’t played in a game since Oct. 3 against Yale University. Walker and Gies, who played in the team’s first 10 games, did not play in the Lafayette game, according to Lehigh Sports statistics. Scott appeared in four games during the season, while Parsons and Frankel did not appear in any.
