The Mountain Hawks lost their third consecutive game this season as the University of Pennsylvania Quakers ran for four touchdowns en route to a 30-10 victory at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
A close first-half matchup ended with Lehigh trailing by only a field goal. The 13-10 differential grew steadily out of hand in the game’s last two quarters as Lehigh’s offense stalled, while Penn accumulated 279 offensive yards, 192 of them on the ground.
Senior quarterback Brad Mayes and senior wide receiver Luke Christiano accounted for Lehigh’s only touchdown of the afternoon with a completion late in the second quarter.
Offensive miscues helped overshadow standout performances from several position players. Senior running back Dominick Bragalone rushed for 103 yards on 23 carries after missing last week’s matchup versus Navy due to injury. Junior wide receiver Devon Bibbens had a game-high 100 receiving yards on five receptions.
The Quaker defense outshined the Mountain Hawks as well, posting seven sacks and one takeaway against the Lehigh offense.
The defeat drops Lehigh to 1-3 on the year.
The Mountain Hawks continue their interconference play in Princeton, New Jersey, for a 1:05 PM matchup against the Tigers on next Saturday.
